This unique law enforcement course is designed for those officers who are involved with, or wish to become involved with, the investigation of social networking sites such as MySpace, FaceBook, MiGente.com, YouTube and more.  It will instruct attendees on how to set up and work through the Undercover Online Account as well as searching for gang members and drug dealers and their criminal activities in your jurisdiction online.

• How to create an Undercover IP Address (How to Spoof your IP Address and MAC Address during Internet UC Ops) to protect your identity
• How to search ISPs (AOL, Yahoo and others) for gangs, gang members, fugitives, and other criminals and how to use YouTube and other video sites
• How to track down people on the Internet, Social Networking Sites, Blogs, Chat Rooms, etc
• Identifying Gangs on the Internet and Graffiti taggers through the Internet
• Identifying Drug Dealers and terrorists on the Internet
• Internet Investigations, Intelligence Operations and Investigative Websites

Who should attend:      Any law enforcement officer that will be performing online investigations with the goal of developing probable cause leading to the arrest of gang members, fugitives, or other criminals or those individuals responsible in a supervisory capacity of those investigators.   

Instructor(s):    Mark Reid is a veteran officer of a major Northeastern law enforcement agency with more than 21 years experience.  Mark served on the Executive Board of the East Coast Gang Investigators Association (ECGIA) from 2000-2006 as the Director of Information and Technology and continues as the Director of Information and Technology for the ECGIA's GRIPE program.  He also edited the ECGIA';s Manual of Concealable and Exotic Weapons and has written numerous law enforcement safety and intelligence bulletins that are distributed internationally.  He is a member of the FBI Digital Forensics Special Interest Group and also works with the i-Safe internet safety education program.  Mark has been conducting training courses for law enforcement officers from a variety of local, state and federal agencies within the US, Canada and overseas for more than eight years.
